Finding the Right Scuba Diving Wetsuit

The right apparel is important for scuba diving. In this case the scuba diving wetsuit is best. It is important to understand that a scuba diving wetsuit can come in many different forms and fits. By finding the one that works best for you your diving adventures will be more comfortable and enjoyable. The first part of scuba diving wetsuits involves determining what type you need based on where you will go scuba diving. A regular wetsuit, for instance, will work best in normal water conditions. A drysuit, on the other hand, is best in colder water conditions. This is especially true for waters that are colder than fifty degrees Fahrenheit. There are also semi-drysuits which cover both but are not particularly specifically made for either situation. It is a good idea to have both a drysuit and wetsuit to be sure. Different scuba diving wetsuits cover different parts of the body. A full scuba diving wetsuit is one that covers the entire body. A spring suit, however, has shortened arm or leg sleeves. A shortie is one that covers the torso but only part of the arms and legs, and a steamer covers everything except the hands and feet. There are also convertible steamers with removable sleeves. For drysuits, there are removable foot covers that are used to help cover the feet in the colder temperatures. The thickness of the scuba diving wetsuit is measured by how thick the neoprene in it is. For instance, a 3/2 scuba diving wetsuit is one that is three millimeters thick at the torso part and two millimeters thick everywhere else. This is best for diving in warmer waters. For colder waters a thicker suit is needed. A 4/3 scuba diving wetsuit can be used. Also, some scuba diving wetsuits have different thickness levels for the torso, arm and leg parts. The fit of the scuba diving wetsuit is essential. The scuba diving wetsuit should be one that fits your body and is not overly tight or loose. Your wetsuit should not hurt the blood flow in your body. Also, the seams on the wetsuit should be well placed in the suit. It is better when there are fewer seams there. This is because a tear in a scuba diving wetsuit is more likely to occur at the seam. Also, with fewer seams that wetsuit will be able to fit well around the body without falling off or becoming loose. If you are using a drysuit wearing thermal underwear underneath the suit can be helpful, as this will add a layer of protection from the water. It will be especially important to have good protection if you are using a drysuit so that your body does not get harmed by the cold temperatures. By knowing what scuba diving wetsuits are out there you can make a better decision of what you want. Scuba diving wetsuits come in many different forms, and the thickness level of them can vary. Also, different wetsuits are needed for cold temperature diving. By using these guidelines you can have a better scuba diving experience.
